2. Martin Luther believed that the Bible is the only source of authority, and that salvation was achieved by faith rather than deeds. Basically, he thought the Catholic Church was wrong.
3.He was crude in the way that he would use violence against people who opposed him or disagreed. He saw it as ok to use “bad language” towards some people, especially Jews.
4. An indulgence was a purchase you could make from the church to have less time in purgatory. Indulgences could also be rewarded. They became popular because people were worried that they would suffer in hell/purgatory.
