Answer:

Not a movie, but the Frankenstein musical did a pretty good job of recreating the novel. I watched the movie years ago, but I barely remember it. All I know is that they cut out Henry Clerval and made Victor old. In the novel, Victor is in his early twenties, and so many of the movie remakes make him a stereotypical "mad scientist". That's why I like the musical better than I do the movies. He's played by Hunter Foster, and even if Foster is in his 50's, he still looks and sounds young. His voice perfectly fits Victor, in a sort of "prestigious scientist who needs to take a nap" way. Very specific, but it makes sense. Then there's Henry, who doesn't get a huge part, but he's not that important in the novel either. He's actually there, though, and that's what makes the musical so good! Plus, they stayed true to the novel and made the creature learn English. In so many other adaptations, they make the creature this eight foot tall man who can't speak, while in the novel he has a great dialect and talks better than most people I know. In the musical, they stay true to this and cast someone who has a deep, baritone voice to play him. The casting choices are amazing, the way they stayed with the novel is great, and even as a standalone show the music is wonderful.

Can someone paraphrase lines 1-16 in Billy Collins poem "The Trouble with Poetry". Thanks
zubka84 [21]
While walking on the beach the author realized what is wrong with poetry. Collins begins to explain that one poet wrote a poem and people liked it so it made even more people become poets. Now EVERYONE thinks they are poets. He goes on to say that it will end when people realize that poets do not write anything of actual substance. Eventually the rise of poets will die down and they will hold their heads down low.

What do the following lines mainly reveal about Arnie, from Jose's point of view (paragraph 10)?
avanturin [10]

Answer:

From the following test what I can gather about Jose is that he is jealous of his cousin.

Explanation:

He believes that Arnie is a spoiled brat that deserves all that he has, he wants to be Arnie or to be like Arnie. Jose's feelings of jealousy aren't misplaced. Imagine yourself in that situation, watching someone have everything that you ever wished to have, watch them be the person that you want to be, it would make anyone jealous.

Locate the infinitive. Since it is used as a noun, determine its noun use. He likes to be chief. Infinitive: Use:
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

Your answer would be "to be chief".

Explanation:

"To be chief" is an infinitive clause which functions as the direct object of the transitive verb likes. An infinitive is a verbal consisting of the particle to plus a verb. In this case, the transitive verb to like selects two arguments: the NP he and the infinitive clause to be chief. In this way, it is possible to say that the inifinitive clause functions as an noun phrase. NPs usually occupy the direct object position.
