How does Odysseus regard the Cyclops based on the description in lines 56-67 of book 9? What does this description reveal about
Aleonysh [2.5K]

The description of the Cyclops based on the description shows him to be a savage. The description states that the Cyclops is "without a law to bless them". He also says that the Cyclops do not tend to their crops, have no community, and abuse their wife and children. This disgust in the Cyclops ways shows that the values of Odysseus and the ancient Greeks are quiet the opposite of how the Cyclops live. The Greeks, and Odysseus, value hard work as well as justice and community.

Identify the type of figurative language used by John F. Kennedy in his famous moon speech. "The greater our knowledge increases
nadya68 [22]

The figurative language used in the excerpt "The greater our knowledge increases, the greater our ignorance unfolds" is the paradox.

The paradox connects in the same situation two opposite things in a construct phrase that together acquires sense: although it seems more logical that when knowledge increases, ignorance reduces or fades away, the meaning of this sentence is that the more we know, the more we discover that yet we have much to learn; Then, the connection of the increasing knowledge with the unfolding ignorance makes sense.
