Mostly, Buddhism and Taoism emerged in China. Buddhists follow eight fold path about Taoists believe in virtuous living.  Buddhists use Buddha statues for meditation but Taoists believe in Common aspect of God.  

Buddhists believe that god is all pervasive and all existing aspect whereas as Taoist believes that divinity is a supreme force and there is no god which exists as a separate entity. Buddhism preaches this life is filled with suffering and the cause of it desires, renunciation is the way for salvation whereas Taoists believe that all humans are manifestations of Tao.
