A third-person limited point of view is when the narrator knows as much as the reader does. A third-person omniscient point of view is when the narrator knows the feelings/emotions of the character.
Shame is negative and you want to hide when something goes badand you are dissapointed at yourself, modesty is to be good at something but not show off, it is way different

I would say C. “was”. It’s definitely not “am”, because that just sounds completely wrong. It’s not “are” because that sounds a bit wrong, too. It can’t be “were” because it’s only referring to one group, not many groups. The only answer it could be is C.
