Stemway Company requires a new manufacturing facility. It found three locations; all of which would provide the needed capacity,

the only difference is the price. Location A may be purchased for $500,000. Location B may be acquired with a down payment of $100,000 and annual payments at the end of each of the next twenty years of $50,000. Location C requires $40,000 payments at the beginning of each of the next twenty-five years. Assuming Stemway borrowing costs are 8% per annum, which option is the least costly to the company?

Answer:

Location C costs least to the company as it only costs $461,160

Explanation:

We will evaluate all the three proposals

Location A Cost = $500,000

Location B

Down payment = $100,000

Annual year end payment = $50,000 for upcoming 20 years

Present value @ 8% = ({\sum \frac{1}{(1+0.08){^1}}+ \frac{1}{(1+0.08){^2}}+ ........ \frac{1}{(1+0.08){^2^0}}}) \times $50,000 = 9.818 X $50,000 = $490,900

Net Present Value = $100,000 + $490,900 = $590,900

Location C

Payment of $40,000 at the beginning of each year, which means first payment will not be discounted and remaining 24 payments will be discounted.

Thus Present Value = $40,000 +( {\sum \frac{1}{(1+0.08){^1}}+ \frac{1}{(1+0.08){^2}}+ ........ \frac{1}{(1+0.08){^2^4}}}) \times $40,000 = $40,000 + 10.529 X $40,000 = $40,000 + $421,160 = $461,160

Thus Location C costs least to the company as it only costs $461,160

lora16 [44]

When a shift in Aggregrate Demand occurs, rational expectations hold that its impact on output and employment will only be temporary.

Aggregate demand is a term used in macroeconomics to describe the aggregate demand for domestic products such as consumer goods, services, and capital goods.

Aggregate demand shows the overall level of consumer demand for goods produced by the economy but does not show other important economic information. For example, high aggregate demand should indicate a healthy economy because you can produce and sell many commodities.

Aggregate demand is the total amount of goods and services in an economy that consumers are willing to pay over a period of time. Aggregate demand is calculated as the sum of personal consumption, capital spending, government spending, and the difference between exports and imports.'

A review of the accounting records of Perez Manufacturing indicated that the company incurred the following payroll costs during
pochemuha

Answer:

a. $363,000

b. $827,200

Explanation:

The calculations are given below:

a. Payroll cost is

=  Salary of the company president + Salary of the chief financial officer + Salary of the vice president of marketing +  Salaries of administrative secretaries + Commissions paid to sales staff

= $75,000 + $42,000 + $40,000 + $60,000 + $146,000

= $363,000

And, for computing payroll cost included in the cost of goods sold first we have to find out the total cost i.e given below:

= Salary of the vice president of manufacturing + Salaries of middle managers (department heads, production supervisors) in manufacturing plant + Wages of production workers + Salaries of engineers and other personnel responsible for maintaining production equipment

= $50,000 + $147,000 + $703,500 + $133,500

= $1,034,000

Now the cost of goods sold would be

= Total cost × sales units ÷ number of units produced

= $1,034,000 × 4,000 units ÷ 5,000 units

= $827,200

Furniture Company manufactures tables. It has two manufacturing departments: Department A and B. The company uses a budgeted ove
motikmotik

Answer:

The total cost of Job A is  $29,044

Explanation:

The computation of the total cost is shown below:

= Direct materials used for Department A + Direct materials used for Department B +  Direct manufacturing labor for Department A + Direct manufacturing labor for Department B + Applied overhead for Department A +  Applied overhead for Department B

where,

Applied overhead for Department A = (Budgeted manufacturing overheads ÷ machine-hours) × Department A machine hours

= ($57,500 ÷ 4,000 machine-hours) × 800 machine-hours

= $11,500

Applied overhead for Department B = (Budgeted manufacturing overheads ÷ Direct labor hours) × Department B Direct labor hours

= ($62,500 ÷ 8,000 Direct labor hours) × 300 Direct labor hours

= $2,344

The other items values would remain the same

Now put these values to the above formula

So, the value would equal to

= $3,250 + $1,350 + $5,250 + $5,350 + $11,500 + $2,344

= $29,044
