The Magna Carta required the king to respect the rights of the church. For example there right to own property, to run its estates and to gain wealth. So this document assured the churches right to run its affairs without the interference of royal rule. Previous to this charter the king was thought to have absolute power due to his “divine right”.

If you traveled to the Spanish city of Cordoba in the tenth century, you would find prosperous trading and religious center, a population larger than Paris, France and a cultural center for the region. The only thing that is not found is the third choice which states that Cordoba is a government free from Islamic influence.
