Answer:

C). The evidence does not support the claim.

Explanation:

The statement that offers the most accurate evaluation of the passage would be that it fails to propose adequate evidence to substantiate the claim. The evidence('Judith is.... Holofernes') presented instead misleads the readers from the central argument('fortune and positions of power are mere illusions'). To validate a claim, it becomes crucial to offer evidence that supplements the author's claim which the author fails to accomplish here. The other options are wrong it offers an evidence(option D out) with a consistent tone(option A out) and proposes a direct and logical claim(option B out). Therefore, option C is the answer as it correctly evaluates the given passage.

Shakespeare has Friar Lawrence leave Juliet in the tomb because his entrance and exit does not matter to the story.
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

Friar Lawrence is a character from the tragedy Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. He is a cleric who helps Romeo and Juliet throughout the play - he helps them meet, marries them, and wants to help them reunite after Romeo's banishment. He is the one who gives the sleeping potion to Juliet, tricking everyone into thinking that she died. He wants her to leave the tomb with him so that he can hide her in a nunnery, but she refuses to leave after realizing that Romeo is dead. After this, he runs, leaving her alone in the tomb.

Every character's actions matter, including their entrance and exit. There is no such thing as meaningless actions, especially in tragedies such as this one. Laurence is afraid of the consequences he would face if someone found out about him faking Juliet's death. He hears the authorities approaching and runs. Juliet is left alone and kills herself.

Fire is an important symbol in Frankenstein for many reasons.

1. Dr Frankenstein is compared to a 'modern Prometheus': Prometheus, in Greek mythology, gave fire (which symbolized knowledge) to humans and then suffered an eternal punishment for that. Frankenstein is trying to bring his own gift of knowledge (life) to humanity but his life is also ruined through this process.

2. Fire also is something that has two sides, each that can help or hurt. Building a fire can create warmth and light, but too much of it can cause death and destruction. This is also shown through Frankenstein's creation of the monster. Think of the saying "playing with fire".
(In a more specific instance, when the monster realizes that fire can destroy he uses it as a weapon (burning the villager's cottage) )

3. Fire also represents passion and desire. Both Frankenstein and the monster possess this fire--Frankenstein for knowledge and creation, the monster for acceptance. This fuels both of their efforts through the novel.

The article claims the titanic...? (7th grade)
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

The immediate cause of RMS Titanic's demise was a collision with an iceberg that caused the ocean liner to sink on April 14–15, 1912. While the ship could reportedly stay afloat if as many as 4 of its 16 compartments were breached, the impact had affected at least 5 compartments.
