The highest cervical vertebra articulates with the skull; the thoracic vertebrae articulate with the ribs; and the sacrum articulates with the two coxal bones to form the pelvis.

What is the vertebral colum?

The vertebral column is a cartilaginous and bony structure articulated in the form of a longitudinal stem that is located in the posterior of the skeleton of several vertebrate animals.

The spinal column is divided into several sections which are:

 • The cervical vertebrae form the neck.
 • The thoracic vertebrae comprise the portion of the thorax and have ribs attached to them.
 • The lumbar vertebrae are the remaining vertebrae that are below the last thoracic bone and on top of the sacrum.
 • The sacral vertebrae are surrounded by the pelvic bones and the coccyx represents the terminal vertebrae or traces of the tail.

wariber [46]

A patient is diagnosed with urinary tract obstruction. while planning care, the nurse realizes that the patient is expected to have hydronephrosis and a decreased glomerular filtration rate caused by Renal pelvis and calyces that are close to a blockage enlarge.

Because of a blockage in the urine's outflow distal to the renal pelvis, hydronephrosis is described as the dilatation and distension of one or both kidneys' renal collecting systems (i.e., ureter, urinary bladder, and urethra). Hydroureter refers to ureteral dilation brought on by blockage of urine outflow.

Intrinsic and extrinsic compression are two major categories for the causes of urinary tract obstruction. Renal stones, cancer, ureteropelvic junction stenosis, ureteral strictures from earlier inflammation, renal cysts, posterior urethral valves, benign prostatic hyperplasia, neurogenic bladder, and others are causes of intrinsic obstruction.

Extrinsic compression can be brought on by conditions such as pregnancy, peripelvic cysts, retrocaval ureters, cancer, trauma, retroperitoneal fibrosis, and prostate abscess, among others.

Microfilaments and microtubules are part of the __________ of a cell.
xxMikexx [17]

Answer: Option A. "Cytoskeleton"

Explanation:

Cytoskeleton can be defined as the network of protein filaments in the cytoplasm eukaryotic cells interlinking from cell nucleus to cell membrane.

There are three basic types of protein fibers present in cytoskeleton that includes micro filaments (Actin filaments ), microtubules and intermediate filaments.

Microfilaments are consist many linked monomers of a protein known as actin, that combines in a double helix with a diameter of about 7 nano-meter and functions as serving tracks for myosin (motor protein).

Microtubules are arranged in a form of hollow straw like structure made up of consist of tubulin proteins having diameter of about 25 nano-meter and further consist of two subunits, α-tubulin and β-tubulin.

Intermediate filaments are the cytoskeletal element which are made up of multiple strands of fibrous proteins wounded together having an average diameter of 8 to 10 nano-meter.
