The equation that can be used to find the coldest temperature recorded in Siberia is y + 10  =  -80

Let the coldest temperature in Alaska be x

The coldest temperature recorded in Alaska was –80°F

x  =  –80°F

Let the coldest temperature in Siberia be y

The coldest temperature recorded in Alaska was 10°F warmer than the coldest temperature recorded in Siberia

This can be interpreted as:

Coldest temperature in Alaska  =  Coldest temperature in Siberia  +  10

x    =  y   +   10................(*)

Since x = -80

Substitute x = -80 into equation (*)

-80   =   y    +   10

This can be re-written as:

y  +  10   =   -80

The equation that can be used to find the coldest temperature recorded in Siberia is y + 10  =  -80

On what interval is the function h(f)=|x+2|-2 increasing ?
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

The increasing interval is S=(-2,\infty)

Step-by-step explanation:

This absolute function has a vertex in x=-2. Now, from this point, the function has a positive slope (increasing), which means for values of x equals to -1,0,1,2,3,...,n.

Therefore the interval will

S=(-2,\infty)

Explain a thought process you might use when trying to find the additive or multiplicative inverse of a number or expression. ..
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]
Definition of additive inverse.- If two numbers are added together and the sum is zero, they are the additive inverse of each other.

<span>......................................... IF A + B = 0 , they are the additive inverse of each other.
</span>

<span>Multiplicative Inverse.- If two numbers are multiplied together and the product is one. They are the multiplicative inverse of each other, also called reciprocal. </span>

<span>......................................... A.B = 1 , they are the multiplicative inverse of each other.
</span>

<span>Example of: </span>

<span>Additive inverses :................ 5 + ( - 5 ) = 0 </span>

<span>Multiplicative inverses...........5 x 1/5 = 1 </span>
