One technique artists may use to create the illusion of a three-dimensional space in a two-dimensional work of art is the "trompe l´oeil" which means "fool the eye". Another is the Op Art, in which the artist creates optical illusions resembling three dimensions. Traditionally, lights and shadows were used to create the three dimensional form.
