Answer:

Q: 875 R: 4

Step-by-step explanation:

If you dont like doing long division, try plugging values in usling a calculator! Estimate tht 5*8=40, and then, 5*800 must then equal 4000, which is pretty close to 4374

5*7=35, so the 5*70 must equal 350

5*4 equals 20, so when you add these values up you get...

4000+350+20...

or 4370

and, since 4374-4370 equals 4, your remainder would be 4!

  • Solving systems of equations using substitution/elimination

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define Systems

y = 2x + 3

y = x + 2

Step 2: Solve for x

Substitution

  1. Substitute in y:                                                                                                  2x + 3 = x + 2
  2. [Subtraction Property of Equality] Subtract x on both sides:                         x + 3 = 2
  3. [Subtraction Property of Equality] Subtract 3 on both sides: x = -1

Step 3: Solve for y

  1. Substitute in x [Original Equation]:                                                                  y = -1 + 2
  2. Add:                                                                                                                    y = 1

Solve for x. 4(2-x)+13=2x+3
gregori [183]

Answer:

x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

4(2-x)+13=2x+3

distribute the 4.

8 - 4x + 13 = 2x + 3

combine like terms.

21 - 4x = 2x + 3

18 = 6x

divide by 6.

x = 3

check.

4(2 - 3) + 13 = 2(3) + 3

4(-1) + 13 = 6 + 3

-4 + 13 = 9

9 = 9

correct!
