We need to find the length of the longest side of an arrowhead.

Length of the longest side of the tip is 14.14\ \text{units}.

The length of one of the legs of the isosceles right triangle is 10 units.

Since, it is a isosceles right triangle, two sides will have equal lengths.

So, the other side of the triangle will also be 10 units and the angle between these two sides will be 90^{\circ}.

So, the Pythagoras theorem can be used to find the third side which will be the longest.

h=\sqrt{10^2+10^2}=\sqrt{200}\\\Rightarrow h=10\sqrt{2}=14.14\ \text{units}

The length of the longest side of the tip is 14.14\ \text{units}.

Given six distinct pairs of gloves, 12 distinct gloves in all, how many ways are there to distribute two gloves to each of six s
noname [10]

a) if the two gloves someone receives might both be for the left hand or right hand.

b) if each sister gets one left and one right.

Soln:

a) So i thought about dissectng the problem first into finding the number of ways in which I could make pairs of gloves:

C(12, 2)

then I asked how many ways could the sets of gloves be assigned amongst the 6 sisters:

<span><span>6!</span><span>6!</span></span>

and taking the product of this would give me the amount of ways this could occur:

= C(12,2) * 6!

then for part b)

using this same idea except:

C(6,1) C(6,1) for the left and right glove each .

the C(6,1)*C(6,1)*6!

Right way to think them through?

What is the solution of the inequality x^2-9x+18 less then or equal to zero? Graph solution.
Stels [109]

ANSWER

3\le x\le6

EXPLANATION

The given inequality is

{x}^{2}  - 9x + 18 \leqslant 0

This is the same as

(x - 3)(x - 6) \leqslant 0

The corresponding equation is

(x - 3)(x - 6)= 0

By the zero product principle,

x = 3 \: or \: x = 6

We now plot the boundaries and test for the region that satisfies the inequality.

See attachment.

From the graph the solution is

3\le x\le6
