On November 11, 1918, an agreement ended the fighting of World War I. The agreement was called an "armistice." The world hoped t

hat World War I was the war that would end all wars, so November 11 soon became known as "Armistice Day." On that day, many nations remembered their soldiers who fought in World War I.
Sadly, World War II began less than 20 years after, and even that wasn't the end of war. So in 1954, America's Armistice Day was renamed "Veterans Day." This was done to appoint November 11 a holiday to remember all of the brave soldiers who help to preserve freedom for Americans and people all over the world.

Every year, Veteran’s Day is observed as a U.S. holiday on November 11. On this day, towns across America honor veterans with parades and ceremonies to thank them for their service.

Which MOST ACCURATELY identifies the relationship between Armistice Day and Veteran's Day?
A) Armistice Day occurs earlier in the year than Veteran's Day.
B) Veteran's Day occurs earlier in the year than Veteran's Day.
C) Both involve honoring veterans. Veteran's Day replaced Armistice Day after World War II.
D) Both involve honoring veterans. Armistice Day replaced Veteran's Day after World War I.

Actually..... all of them are correct!

The difference is whether the word "the orchestra" needs a plural or singular verb. In American English a singular verb is needed (so American English would only accept options a) and c) ) but in British English both forms are acceptable: so in British English all four sentences are correct.
