Calculate 12 x 15 by changing the numbers into friendlier numbers as we saw in the videos. Show how you work it out – write out
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

The product 12 × 15 in friendlier numbers is (10 + 2) × (10 + 5) = 180

Step-by-step explanation:

The parameter given are;

To 12 × 15 by changing the numbers into friendlier numbers

The product in 12 × 15 written with friendlier numbers (or in a simplified format can be given as follows;

12 × 15 = (10 + 2) × (10 + 5)

Which gives;

(10 + 2) × (10 + 5) = 10² + 10 × 5 + 2 × 10 + 2 × 5

From which we have;

10² + 10 × 5 + 2 × 10 + 2 × 5 = 100 + 50 + 20 + 10 = 180

Therefore;

12 × 15 = 180.

Please help and show work for number 19
rewona [7]
First, multiply the top layer. 9 times 8 is 72.
now multiply the next layer. its not 15 times 20. its 7 times 20. remember the 9 times 8? well the 8 is a part of the 15. 15-8 is 7. 7 times 20 is 140. now add 140 and the 72 from the beginning. 140+72 is = to 212. please give me THE BRAINLIEST ANSWER.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME?!?!!? PLEASSEE I ONLY HAVE 2 QUESTIONS!!!
Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

 1. d. The y-intercept is 1 space higher.
 2. a. 9 to the power of -1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Changing f(x) to f(x) + 1 adds 1 to every output value of the function, moving that value "1 space higher". This is true for the y-intercept, too.

___

2. The rules of exponents apply:

 • a^b · a^c = a^(b+c)
 • 1/a^b = a^-b

You apparently want to simplify ...

... 9^(1/4) × 9^(1/2) / 9^(5/4)

... = 9^(1/4 + 1/2 - 5/4)

... = 9^((1+2-5)/4)

... = 9^(-2/4) = 9^(-1/2)
