Not only did the Doolittle's Raid of April 18, 1942, four months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, provided a psychological boost for the U.S. (Answer C), but it delivered a strong blow top the prestige of invincibility of the Imperial Armed Forces and the sense of absolute safety of the Japanese Home Islands from attacks from Allied forces.

A direct consequence of this attack was the withdrawal of a number of fighter squadrons and antiaircraft battery units from frontline operations in order to reassure the civilian population after the raid.

A consequence of strategic importance, often passed over by history textbooks, was the precipitation of the plans of the Japanese Imperial Navy (wishing to retaliate the U.S. navy for the raid) which led to the strategic defeat of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) at the Battle of Coral Sea, which in turn would lead to the turning point of the war in the Pacific Theater of Operations at the Battle of Midway, with the destruction of the four major IJN aircraft carriers and loss of offensive initiative of all Imperial Armed Forces for the remainder of the war.

Lusitania was an important event in World War I. The death of so many innocent civilians at the hands of the Germans galvanized American support for entering the war, which eventually turned the tide in favor of the Allies. The Lusitania was a British luxury cruise ship.
