Of course, everyone always thinks to turn off the water when you brush your teeth, but there are other important steps to take, too. Make sure your pipes don't have any leaks, and if they do, call a professional as soon as possible. Only wash your clothes if the washing machine is full. Same goes with washing dishes in a dishwasher. Another good idea is to install a gray-water system to reuse water. Also, having a rainwater collection basin is never a bad idea.
