Answer: 548.96

Explanation: first find the circumference of the circle in the cone: 8*8*3.14 = 200.96

next find the triangle's area: 8 * 7/2 = 348

then add together 200.96+348= 548.96

A company makes two versions of a particular software product, a standard version and a deluxe version. Out of 25,000 units ship
alekssr [168]
First, we need to find the probability, P, that the software is the standard version.

Out of 25,000 units, 5,000 were deluxe. That means the remaining 20,000 were standard. So, 20,000 out of 25,000, or \frac{20000}{25000} were standard. That means the probability of selecting a standard one at random is P = 0.8.

Next, we need to find the independent probability that any software box will contain the promotion. We know that 1 in 500 will, or \frac{1}{500}. That means P = 0.002.

To find the compound probability of these two events, we multiply the probabilities together to get P=(0.8)(0.002)=0.0016.

on the microscopic level, explain the concept of energy transfer as heat when a hand is placed in water that is 50 °c. body temp
Elina [12.6K]

Answer/Explanation:

Energy is transferred from a hotter object to a cooler object. This is largely because of the collision of the molecules of a hotter body with the molecules of a cooler body ultimately leading to a transfer of energy from the hotter body to the cooler body. This now makes the temperature of the cooler body to rise.

Remember that temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the molecules in a body.

Therefore, since the water is at a higher temperature, energy is transferred from the water to the hand and the temperature of the hand rises accordingly.

When the temperature of an object increases, the average kinetic energy of its particles increases. When the average kinetic energy of its particles increases, the object's thermal energy increases. Therefore, the thermal energy of an object increases as its temperature increases.
