An economic force that makes people to move to metropolitan areas is for jobs. The reason why suburbanization occurs in the US and Canada is due to lower land costs.

Why the reasons above for people's migration?

Note that the search for job can be an economic force that pushes people to move into metropolitan places as people are in need of money and would do anything to get it.

Note also that suburbanization in the US and Canada is said to happen due to the fact that the lower land costs makes people to have housing that they can afford.
