These lines are important to the plot because they show that Jinsen will finally get to visit his father.

Why couldn't Jinsen visit his father?

 • Because he was busy taking care of his great-aunt.
 • Because his great-aunt couldn't be alone.
 • Because he didn't have anyone to help him take care of his great-aunt.

Jinsen devoted all his time to his great-aunt's care and this prevented him from carrying out any activities or desires.

It was very important for him to find his father, but he couldn't go out and visit him. However, in lines 81-84 of "Budha Boy," we can see that Audrey offers to take care of his great-aunt while he goes to find his father.
