In the 1600s, the king of india, shah jahan, had everything he wanted. india's gemstone mining made the country very wealthy. sh

ah jahan was deeply in love with his wife and queen, mumtaz mahal. shah jahan ruled a peaceful kingdom, but when his wife died, shah jahan grieved deeply. the only solace he found was in building her the most beautiful mausoleum he could imagine. the taj mahal is still regarded as one of the most beautiful structures in the world and is a national landmark in india.
