a) T - Calories, 2000 - <em>Minimum</em> calories, 500 - Additional calories per exercise hour, b) We should consume 3500 calories to spend three hours exercising.

<h3>How to analyse a linear function of calorie gain in terms of the exercise time</h3>

In this question we have a <em>linear</em> function where the <em>independent</em> variable is the exercise time (h), in hours, and the <em>dependent</em> variable is the calorie gain (T), in calories. The constant "2000" is the <em>minimum</em> calorie consumption and the constant "500" represents the amount of <em>additional</em> calories per each hour of exercise.

Now we proceed to respond the questions of the part a):

(i) T - Amount of calories needed, (ii) 2000 - Minimum calorie consumption, (iii) 500 - Amount of additional calories per hour of exercise.

b) And lastly we calculate the amount of calories by evaluating the function:

T = 2000 + 500 · 3

T = 2000 + 1500

T = 3500

We should consume 3500 calories to spend three hours exercising.

<h3>Remark</h3>

The statement is incomplete, the complete form is shown below:

You are trying to bulk up and gain muscle. Your trainer says that your daily calorie intake should increase based on the hours you spend exercising and can be represented by the following equation: T = 2000 +  500 · h

a) What does each part of this expression represent? (i) T = , (ii) 2000, (iii) 500, (iv) h

b) If you spend 3 hours exercising, how many calories should you consume?

Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Answer:

a) -6

b) 3

c) Y = -6x + 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Pick two points and find rise/run = slope

rise y1 - y2 = 9 - 3 = 6

run x1 - x2 = -1 - 0 = -1

slope = 6 / -1 = -6

The y intercept is where x = 0 which is given in the table (0,3) so

y intercept = 3

Point slope form is y = mx + b , so

y = -6x + 3

If P is a point of symmetry, click on the graphic to find the figure that is symmetrical by P.
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

The third figure is the answer (Look to the attached figure

Step-by-step explanation:

* The point of symmetry means

- If a figure or graph can be rotated 180° about a point P

 and end up looking identical to the original, then P is a point

 of symmetry

- The same distance from the central point

  but in the opposite direction.

* Lets look to the four answers

- In the 3rd figure first line up can be rotated 180° about a point P

 and end up looking identical to the second line down, then P

 is a point of symmetry

- The same distance from the point  p

  but in the opposite direction.

* The figure show the answer

PLEASE PLEASE HELP! Find the measure of APB^.
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

65°

Step-by-step explanation:

Radii CA and CB are perpendicular to tangent lines AT and BT, so

\angle CAT=\angle CBT=90^{\circ}

Since angle BAT is equal to 65°, angle CAB has measure

\angle CAB=90^{\circ}-65^{\circ}=25^{\circ}.

Consider triangle ACB. This triangle is isosceles, because CA=CB as radii of the circle. Two angles adjacent to the base are congruent, thus

\angle CBA=\angle CAB=25^{\circ}

The sum of the measures of all interior angles in triangle is always 180°, so

\angle CAB+\angle CBA+\angle ACB=180^{\circ}\\ \\25^{\circ}+25^{\circ}+\angle ACB=180^{\circ}\\ \\\angle ACB=130^{\circ}

Angle ACB is central angle subtended on the minor arc AB, angle APB is inscribed angle subtended on the same minor arc AB. The measure of inscribed angle is half the measure of central angle subtended on the same arc, so

x=\angle APB=\dfrac{1}{2}\cdot 130^{\circ}=65^{\circ}
