Full question:

Drag each label to the correct location on the chart. Based on the number of offsprings they produce at one time, organisms are classified into two categories many offsprings at once and a few at a time. Sort the characteristics based on the category they describe.

A.Low percentage of offspring reach adulthood,

B.limited parental involvement,

C.High percentage of offspring reach adulthood,

D.Rapid maturation,

E.Parental care observed,

few offspring at once vs many offspring at once.

Answer:

At the same time, there are a few offspring

C. A high proportion of offspring grow up to be adults.

E. Observed parental care,

At the same time, many offspring

A. Only a small fraction of offspring grow up to be adults.

B. minimal parental participation;

D. Rapid maturation.

Few offspring at a time have a high percentage of offspring reaching adulthood. If a large percentage of offspring reach adulthood, the offspring are likely to be few and well cared for.

<h3>What is parental care?</h3>

Parental care is seen to be unique to only a few offspring at a time. If the parents provide good care to their children, the offspring are likely to be few. It will be easier for the parent organism to care for a small number of children at once.

Many offspring at once have a low percentage of offspring reaching adulthood. Because there are so many kids at once, competition for room and food, as well as a lack of care, only a small percentage of them will reach adulthood.

Many offspring have limited parental participation at the same time. Because there were so many kids at the same time, the competition for parental care among the offspring would be strong. The parents' organism will be unable to care for the large number of children.

Rapid maturation is unique to several offspring at the same time. In order to survive, the organism will have to mature quickly. Due to the large number of children, survival will be determined by the fittest. The ability of the children to mature quickly will be aided by the survival of the fittest trait.

Which of the following statements about oxidative phosphorylation by ATP synthase is FALSE? A) The electrochemical gradient acro
Alina [70]

Answer

D)A proton gradient alone without a corresponding energy input is not sufficient to drive the synthesis of ATP

Explanation:

Oxidative phosphorylation reffers to metabolic pathway whereby enzyme is used by the cell to achieve nutrient oxidation, so that chemical energy of molecular oxygen is released as a result of this, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is manufactured. oxidative phosphorylation is seen in all organisms that are aerobic in nature and it occur in the mitochondria of all eukaryotic organisms. There is electron transfer during oxidative phosphorylation, the electrons moves from the donor to the receptor and this is known as redox reaction, as a result of this energy is released, and this energy is used for formation of ATP.

Therefore, among all the options, A proton gradient alone without a corresponding energy input is not sufficient to drive the synthesis of ATP is the false statement.

Why do phospholipids tend to spontaneously orient themselves into something resembling a membrane such as the lipid-bilayer sphe
KatRina [158]

The phospholipid bilayer functions mainly as a structural framework for the membrane where the polar heads of the phospholipids tend to orient towards their polar surroundings, preserving the hydrophobic part from any contact with water.

<h3>What are phospholipids?</h3>

They are lipid molecules that have a strongly polar group in addition to the hydrophobic hydrocarbon chain.

<h3>Characteristics of phospholipids</h3>

  • The polar heads are oriented towards the aqueous medium (intra and extracellular).

  • The hydrophobic tails tend to be oriented towards the lipid medium, that is, inside the bilayer, constituting the membrane matrix.

Therefore, we can conclude that phospholipids, due to their amphipathic nature, tend to orient or organize themselves spontaneously, forming the so-called lipid bilayer.

Describe what happens when the urinary system does not function properly? I am not sure.
kompoz [17]
Many things can happen if the urinary system doesn't function properly.
It all depends on how bad it is, but basically if your kidneys don't function properly your body will retain water and your blood, liver amongst other things can not get rid of toxins. If it's where a person doesn't urinate then dialysis will be needed immediately or the immune system will eventually breakdown and lead to other complications.

How do the Earth’s physical factors influence population density? When population growth increases in an area, what is happening
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]
The Earth's physical factors influence population density by being a key determinant in which people choose to reside. ... When there is an increase in population, birth rate is high, and the age structure of that population is forming like a pyramid which represents more people comprise the younger generation.
