Celina says true that each of the following expressions is actually a binomial expression.

<h3>What is binomial?</h3>

The binomial is a polynomial of two-term only. For example, x + 5 where x and 5 are the two separate terms.

Celina says that each of the following expressions is actually a binomial in disguise:

a.  5abc - 2a² + 6abc = 11abc - 2a²

The is a binomial expression.

b.  5x³∙2x² - 10x⁴ + 3x⁵ + 3x∙(-2) x⁴ = 7x⁵ - 10x⁴

The is a binomial expression.

c.  (t+2)² - 4t = t² + 4

The is a binomial expression.

d.  5(a - 1) - 10(a - 1) + 100(a - 1) = 95a - 95

The is a binomial expression.

e.  (2πr - πr² )r - (2πr - πr²)∙2r = -2πr² + πr³

The is a binomial expression.

Celina says true that each of the following expressions is actually a binomial expression.

a mixture of peanuts and corn sells for P40 per kilo. The peanuts sell for P42 per kilo while the corn sells for P36 per kilo. h
Lelu [443]

Answer:

The weight of peanuts in the mixture   = 8  kg

The weight of corns in the given mixture = 4 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume the weight of peanuts in the mixture   = x kg

The weight if corns in the given mixture = y kg

Total weight = (x + y) kg

The combined mixture weight = 12 kg

⇒ x  + y = 12  ..... (1)

Cost of per kg if mixture  = $ 40

So, the cost of (x + y) kg mixture  = (x+y) 40 = 40(x+ y)   ..... (2)

The cost of 1 kg of peanuts =  $ 42

So cost of x kg of peanuts  = 42 (x)  = 42 x

The cost of 1 kg of corns  = $ 36

So cost of y kg of corns  = 36 (y)  = 36 y

So, the total cost of x kg peanuts  + y kg corns =  42 x +  36 y  .... (3)

From (1) and (2), we get:

40(x+ y)  = 42 x +  36 y

x +  y = 12 ⇒ y = 12 -x

Put this in  40(x+ y)  = 42 x +  36 y

We get:

40(x+ 12 -x)  = 42 x +  36 (12 -x)

480 = 42 x + 432 - 36 x

or, 480 - 432 = 6 x

or, x  = 8

⇒ y = 12 -x = 12 - 8 = 4

⇒  y = 4

Hence, the weight of peanuts in the mixture   = 8  kg

The weight of corns in the given mixture = 4 kg

Which events are independent? Check all that apply.
Westkost [7]
Independent events are those events that do not affect each other in any way. Any change in one event will no have a corresponding change to the other one. Therefore, the independent events are:

<span>Roll a number cube, and then roll the same number cube again,
Flip a coin, and then flip the coin a second time.
Draw a card from a deck, replace it, and then draw a second card.</span>

A large storage tank, open to the atmosphere at the top and filled with water, develops a small hole in its side at a point 10.4
vlabodo [156]

Answer:

Therefore the diameter of the hole is 1.94 \times 10^{-3} m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Bernoulli's equation,

P_1+\frac12 \rho v^2_1+\rho g h_1= P_2+\frac12 \rho v^2_2+\rho g h_2

P₁ = P₂= atmospheric presser

\rho= density

\frac12 \rho v^2_1+\rho g h_1= \frac12 \rho v^2_2+\rho g h_2             [since P₁ = P₂]

\Rightarrow\rho (\frac12 v^2_1+ g h_1)= \rho(\frac12 v^2_2+ g h_2)

\Rightarrow\frac12 v^2_1+ g h_1= \frac12 v^2_2+ g h_2

\Rightarrow\frac12 v^2_2-\frac12 v^2_1=g h_1- g h_2

\Rightarrow v^2_2- v^2_1=2g h                                [h_1-h_2=h]

Here   v_1\approx 0

\Rightarrow v^2_2=2g h

\therefore v_2=\sqrt {2gh

Here g= 9.8 m/s² , h = 10.4 m

The velocity of water that leaves from the hole v_2 = \sqrt {2\times 9.8\times 10.4} m/s

                                                                                  =14.28 m/s.

Given, the rate of flow from the leak is 2.53\times 10^{-3} m^3/min

                                                               =\frac{2.53\times 10^{-3}}{60}  m^3/s

Let the diameter of the hole be d.

Then the cross section area of the hole is =\pi (\frac d2)^2

We know that,

The rate of flow = Cross section area × speed

\Rightarrow \frac{2.53\times 10^{-3}}{60} =\pi (\frac d2)^2\times 14.28

\Rightarrow (\frac d2)^2=\frac{2.53\times 10^{-3}}{60\times 14.28\times \pi}

\Rightarrow d= 1.94 \times 10^{-3}

Therefore the diameter of the hole is 1.94 \times 10^{-3} m.

5(x - 12) + 6 = 3(2x - 7)
LuckyWell [14K]

Step-by-step explanation:

First, distribute the outside numbers into the parentheses:

5*x+5*-12+6=3*2x+3*-7

5x-60+6=6x-21

Combine like terms

5x-54=6x-21

Add 21 to both sides

5x-33=6x

Subtract 5x from both sides

you wind up getting x=-33

x=-33

you can check to make sure that's the correct answer but simply plugging in -33 for x and checking to make sure both sides of the equation are equal:

-33-12=-45*5=-225+6=-219

-33*2=-66-7=-73*3=-219

So, yes, x equals -33
