The value for y is 17.5°

The equation is

Sin (3y - 30°) = Cos (7y +50°)

<h3>What is Trigonometry ?</h3>

Trigonometry is the branch oh Mathematics which involve the study of right angles , its sides and trigonometric ratios.

the equation given in the question is

Sin (3y - 30°) = Cos (7y +50°)

cos(90 - \rm \theta\\ ) = sin  \rm \theta\\

Therefore

sin(3y-30°) = sin( 90-(7y+50°)

Equating the terms

3y - 30 = 90-7y -50

4y = 90-50+30

4y = 120-50

4y = 70

y = 17.5

The value for y is 17.5°

Your problem statement makes no reference to p or q, so we can only guess that "p/q" refers to the ratio of the lowest- and highest-degree coefficients:

... -6/1

Then the factors of p/q are the factors of 6, with either sign.

Factors of p/q: ±1, ±2, ±3.

There are a number of ways the factors can be tested. To test 1, simply add the coefficients. (The sum is -8.) To test -1, subtract the sum of odd-degree coefficients from the sum of even-degree coefficients. (The difference is 0.)

Knowing that -1 is a root of the function, you can use synthetic division to find the quadratic factor. (See the first attachment for the work.) Then you have ...

... f(x) = (x +1)(x² +x -6)

You can continue to test the factors of p/q, or you can factor the quadratic to get ...

... f(x) = (x +1)(x -2)(x +3)

Another way to test the factors is to program your graphing calculator to evaluate the function f(x) for those factors. The result from my TI-84 is shown in the second attachment. That shows f(x) = 0 for x = -3, -1, and +2.

Test the factors: f({-3, -2, -1, 1, 2, 3}) = {0, 4, 0, -8, 0, 24}

This tells you the x-intercepts.

X-intercepts: -3, -1, 2

Of course, the y-intercept is just the constant in the function—the value of the function when x=0.

Y-intercept: -6

As with any odd-degree polynomial with a positive leading coefficient, the overall behavior looks like "/". That is ...

End behaviors: f(x) goes to -∞ as x goes to -∞; f(x) goes to +∞ as x goes to +∞.

_____

A graph of f(x) is shown in the third attachment. (Graphing calculators make it easy to use graphing to find x-intercepts.)

There are 92,746 seats available for fans at UGA's Sanford Stadium. Auburn University's Jordan-Hare Stadium has seating for 87,4
Anvisha [2.4K]

Given :

Number of seats at UGA's Sanford Stadium, n_1 = 92,746 .

Number of seats at Auburn University's Jordan-Hare Stadium, n_2=87,451 .

To Find :

How many more seats are there at UGA's stadium.

Solution :

Extra seats at UGA's stadium = seats at UGA's Sanford Stadium - seats at

                                                     Auburn University's Jordan-Hare Stadium

= 92,746 - 87,451

= 5295

Hence, this is the required solution.

A rectangular parcel of land has an area of 6,000 ft2. A diagonal between opposite corners is measured to be 10 ft longer than o
Drupady [299]

Answer:

50ft by 120ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a rectangle = L × W

6000ft² = L × W

L = 6000/W

When a diagonal line divides a rectangle into 2 right angled triangles, the diagonal line = Hypotenuse of either of the triangle and it is the longest side.

The formula for a right angle triangle =

a² + b² = c²( c = hypotenuse)

We are told in the question that:

A diagonal between opposite corners is measured to be 10 ft longer than one side of the parcel

Let us assume the side that the hypotenuse is longer than = Width

Hence, the Diagonal = (W + 10)²

Therefore

L² + W² = (W + 10)²

Since L = 6000/W

W² + (6000/W)² = (W + 10)²

W² + (6000/W)² = (W + 10) (W + 10)

W² + (6000/W)² = W² + 10W + 10W + 100

W² + (6000/W)² = W² + 20W + 100

W² - W² + (6000/W)² = 20W+ 100

6000²/W² = 20W + 100

6000² = W²( 20W + 100)

6000² = 20W³ + 100W²

20W³ + 100W² - 6000² = 0

20W³ + 100W² - 36000000 = 0

20(W³ + 5W² - 1800000) = 0

Factorising the quadratic equation,

20(W − 120)(W² + 125W + 15000) = 0

W - 120 = 0

W = 120

Therefore,

W(Width) = 120feet

Since the Width = 120 feet

We can find the length

6000ft² = L × W

L = 6000/W

L = 6000/120

L = 50 feet

The dimensions of the land, correct to the nearest foot is 50ft by 120ft
