An equation is formed of two equal expressions. The equation of the perpendicular bisector is y=(1/3)x.

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

An equation is formed when two equal expressions are equated together with the help of an equal sign '='.

The equation of the line that passes through  (2, 4), (3, 1), and (4,-2), are,

m = (4-1)/(2-3) = 3/-1 = -3

Since the product of the slope of two perpendicular lines is -1. The slope of the perpendicular line is,

m₁m₂ = -1

(-3) m₂ = -1

m₂ = 1/3

Since the line is the perpendicular bisector it will pass through midpoint,

1 = (1/3)(3) + C

1 = 1 + C

C = 0

Hence, the equation of the perpendicular bisector is y=(1/3)x.

If m angle ECD is six less than five times m angle BCE, and mangle BCD = 162º. find each
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

let ∠BCE = x then ∠ECD = 5x - 6 and

∠BCE + ∠ECD = ∠BCD, substitute values

x + 5x - 6 = 162, that is

6x - 6 = 162 ( add 6 to both sides )

6x = 168 ( divide both sides by 6 )

x = 28

Hence

∠BCE = x = 28°

∠ECD = 5x - 6 = (5 × 28) - 6 = 140 - 6 = 134°

3 over eight people ride the bus in Mrs. Mulls class. If she has 24 students how many students ride the bus?
qaws [65]
I think you divide 24 by 8 which = 3 and then times 3•3 which equals 9 so I think that 9 students out of 24 ride the bus

This exercise provides information about data in a survey of students. The survey included 58 students who smoke and 311 who don
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

0.157 is the proportion of students who smoke.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Number of students who smoke = 58

Number of students who don't smoke = 311

Total number of students surveyed =

Number of students who smoke + Number of students who don't smoke

= 58 + 311\\=369

Proportion of students who smoke =

=\displaystyle\frac{\text{Number of students who smoke}}{\text{Total number of students}}\\\\= \frac{58}{369}\\\\= 0.157

Thus, 0.157 is the proportion of students who smoke.
