The federal response to the Great Depression was in the form of introducing changes to the structure of the federal government. This happened through the introduction of cooperative federalism.

<h3>What is cooperative federalism?</h3>

Cooperative federalism was developed as a system wherein the powers of the federal government grew and the federal and the state government began to work closely on various issues and policy-related decisions.

The boundaries between the federal and the state government were increasingly diminished. The federal government started to allocate funds and resources to the state government, and both the state and the federal government began to work, cooperatively.
