All around the world, resources are allocated in a variety of methods and to varying degrees. This unequal distribution means that different quantities of some resources are only available to particular people. It is frequently the outcome of prior geologic activities like volcanic activity or tectonic migration.

Population distribution and human habitation. In areas with the resources they require to exist and prosper, people often choose to settle and congregate.

Natural resources cannot be accessed by everyone due to the division of those resources along national borders. It highlights one of the root reasons of the issue as the unequal distribution of natural resources with other aspects like climate change and overpopulation.
