The changes that occur due to the non-uniform distribution of natural resources are discussed below.

What is uneven distribution of natural resources?

All around the world, resources are allocated in a variety of methods and to varying degrees. This unequal distribution means that different quantities of some resources are only available to particular people. It is frequently the outcome of prior geologic activities like volcanic activity or tectonic migration.

Population distribution and human habitation. In areas with the resources they require to exist and prosper, people often choose to settle and congregate.

Natural resources cannot be accessed by everyone due to the division of those resources along national borders. It highlights one of the root reasons of the issue as the unequal distribution of natural resources with other aspects like climate change and overpopulation.

Adrenaline stimulates glycogen breakdown in skeletal muscle cells by ultimately activating glycogen phosphorylase, the enzyme th
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Answer:

d) A constitutively active mutant form of PKA in skeletal muscle cells would lead to an excess in the amount of glycogen available.

Explanation:

This occurs in the process of Glycogenolysis. The process involves breaking down of glycogen to glucose -1- phosphate and glycogen which helps in the release of glucose into the blood stream to prevent hypoglycemia(low blood sugar). The glucose-1-phosphate is later converted to glucose -6-phosphate. The latter enters the glycolytic pathway in which the reaction is catalysed by the enzyme phosphoglucomutase.

This homeostatic glucose regulation is regulated by the protein kinase(PKA)/ cAMP pathway in the skeletal muscles, the liver and the pancreas.

Which of the following is NOT a mechanism used to temporally regulate the activity of maturation-promoting factor (MPF)?
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

C. glycosylation

Explanation:

The maturation-promoting factor (MPF) is a cell cycle checkpoint that stimulates the passage from G2 (prophase) to M phase (metaphase). MPF also determines that DNA replication during the S (synthesis) phase did not produce any mutations. MPF is inactivated by kinase phosphorylation and activated by specific phosphatases capable of dephosphorylating this protein. On the other hand, glycosylation is a posttranslational modification where a carbohydrate (i.e., a glycan) is added to a functional group of another molecule. Many proteins undergo glycosylation, thereby playing a critical role in regulating protein function.
