Answer:

The cross between two plants of heterozygous genotype i.e. two pink-coloured flowers will result in progeny/ offsprings having one of each color (white, red and pink).

Parents.... RW × RW

↓ ↓

Gametes... R, W R, W

Inbreeding...

Progeny.... RR, RW, WW, RW

Hence, 50% of the offsprings will be pink coloured, 25% will be of red color and another 25% will be white color.

You have identified a mutation in a gene that seems to decrease transcription of another gene 2000 bp away from the mutation sit
Reil [10]

Answer:

Enhancer sequence.

Explanation:

Enhancers may be defined as the transcription factors that are used to enhance or increase the activity of the gene. Enhancers bind with the transcription factors to regulate and increase its expression.

The mutation in the enhancers decrease the transcription of  of the other gene. These sequences lies far away from the transcription site but still known to increase the rate of transcription. Hence, the mutation has been done in the enhancer sequences.

Thus, the correct answer is option (b).

Why are embryonic stem cells useful for treating diseases
astraxan [27]
Embryonic stem cells are pluripotent cells that are derived from the inner cell mass of a blastocyst before implantation. These cells have potential of treating a wide range of diseases and conditions, which is attributed to the fact that they have; self renewal property meaning that they can ploriferate indefinitely, the cells also have the special ability to differentiate into cells with specialized characteristics and functions. In addition the cells are unspecialized and therefore they can give rise to specialized cells.

trasher [3.6K]

Answer:

A biological community in which association takes place between the organisms and their physical surroundings is termed as an ecosystem. It can also be defined as an association between the nonliving and living components found within the environment. A particular geographical region, which is specified for the species thriving within it is known as a biome.

A branch of science, which deals with the natural procedures that comprise fire within an ecosystem and the ecological influences it imparts, the association between the biotic and the abiotic constituents of an ecosystem with the fire, and the role played by fire within an ecosystem is termed as a fire ecology.

Different kinds of ecosystems like savanna, prairie, coniferous forests and chaparral have originated by the contribution of the fire, which plays an essential role in the renewal and vitality of the habitat. Different kind of plant species needs the assistance of fire to establish, to reproduce, or to germinate. In case, if the suppression of wildfire takes place, it will eventually result in the eradication of various plant species and the animals that rely upon them.

Photophores are:
Kobotan [32]

Answer:

B) cells or tissue that produce light

Explanation:

It wouldn't be A because photophores do not affect the color of other organisms.

It wouldn't be C because the cells produce light, they don't necessarily change color.

Lastly, it wouldn't be D because it isn't a whole organism producing the light, it's an organ. Organs are multiple tissues working together, and tissues are groups of cells.
