Paul Laurence Dunbar’s “We Wear the Mask” and “Sympathy” are poems that resound with suffering. What causes the pain of the peop
lubasha [3.4K]
In "We Wear the Mask," people suffer because life is painful and people hide their pain from the world. Dunbar writes the "clay is vile" beneath their feet, implying life on earth is hard and difficult. They do not change their situations because they cannot -- it is implied that to live is to suffer. In the poem these people appeal to Christ to save them.

In "Sympathy," the bird suffers because it is caged. It sees the beauty of the world around it but it cannot participate in it. The bird cannot change its situation because it is literally imprisoned. The caged bird appeals in its pain to Heaven, hoping God will relive its suffering.

How secondary sources should be used in an analytical research report, compared to primary sources.
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

Secondary sources help us have a big picture of a topic and understand how other researchers have approached it. They often interpret and analyze many primary sources that can be difficult and time-consuming to synthesize by ourselves. They allow us to:

• Gain an overview of the topic

• Support or contrast our arguments with other researchers’ ideas

• Gather information from primary sources that are not directly accessible

Therefore, it can be helpful to consult secondary sources when you write a report. If you want to mention an article or study cited in a secondary source, search for the original source and cite it directly.
