The maximum profit price and maximum profit are 23.33 and  301666.66 respectively

<h3>Difference of functions</h3>

Given the following functions

Expense =  E = -3,000p + 250,000.

The revenue function is R = -600p^2 + 25,000p

The profit is the difference between the revenue and cost to have;

P = R - E

P = -600p^2 + 25,000p - ( -3,000p + 250,000.)

Simplify

P = -600p^2 + 25,000p - ( -3,000p + 250,000.)

P = -600p^2 + 25,000p +3,000p-  250,000

P = -600p^2  + 28000p - 250000

The maximum price occurs when P'(p) = 0

P'(p) = -1200p + 28000

0 = -1200p + 28000

p = 28000/1200
p = 23.33

Substitute

P(23.33) = -600(23.33)^2  + 28000(23.33) - 250000

P(23.33) = -326573.34 - 250000 + 653240

P(23.33) = 301666.66

Hence the maximum profit price and maximum profit are 23.33 and  301666.66 respectively

How does the graph of y = sec(x + 3) – 7 compare with the graph of y = sec(x)?
Alla [95]

Answer:

The function y = sec(x) shifted 3 units left and 7 units down .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the function: y = sec(x)

  • If k is any positive real number, then the graph of f(x) - k is  the graph of y = f(x) shifted downward k units.
  • If p is a positive real  number, then the  graph of f(x+p) is  the graph of y=f(x)  shifted to the left  p units.

The function y = \sec(x+3)-7 comes from the base function y= sec(x).

Since 3 is added added on the inside, this  is a horizontal shift Left 3 unit, and since 7 is subtracted on the outside, this is a vertical shift  down 7 units.

Therefore, the transformation on the given function is shifted  3 units left and 7 units down

A solid oblique pyramid has a regular hexagon base with an area of 54_/3 cm^2 and an edge length of 6cm. Angle BAC measures 60 d
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer: The answer is (C) 324 cubic cm.

Step-by-step explanation: As given in the question, given a solid oblique pyramid with a regular hexagonal base and area 54√3 cm². Also, the edge length of the base is 6cm and ∠BAC = 60°.

We are to find the volume of the pyramid.

The formula for finding the volume of a pyramid is given by

V=\dfrac{1}{3}b\times h,

where, 'b' is the base area and 'h' is the perpendicular height of the pyramid.

Here, b = 54√3 cm², h = ?

Now, from the right-angled triangle ABC, we have

\dfrac{\textup{BC}}{\textup{AC}}=\tan 60^\circ\\\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{h}{6}=\sqrt 3\\\\\Rightarrow h=6\sqrt 3.

Therefore, the volume of the pyramid is

V=\dfrac{1}{3}b\times h=\dfrac{1}{3}\times 54\sqrt 3\times 6\sqrt 3=324.

Thus, the required volume is V=324~\textup{cm}^3. This makes (C) as the correct option.

Rich is comparing the cost of maintaing his car with the depreciating value of the car. When will the cost and value be the same
goldfiish [28.3K]

Complete question:

Rich is comparing the cost of maintaining his car with the depreciation value of the car.

The value starts at $20,000 and decreases by 15% each year. The maintanance cost is $500 the first year and increases by 28% per year.

When will the maintenance cost and the value be the same.

Answer:

9 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Depreciation is modeled by an exponential function :

A = p(1 - r)^t [decrease, '-']

A = 20,000(1 - 0.15)^t

A = 20000(0.85)^t - - - (1)

Maintainace cost :

A = p(1 + r)^t ; [increase, '+']

A = 500(1 + 0.28)^t

A = 500(1.28)^t - - - (2)

Equating (1) and 2

20000(0.85)^t = 500(1.28)^t

1.28^t / 0.85^t = 20000/500

(1.28 / 0.85)^t = 40

Take log of both sides

Log (1.28 / 0.85)^t = log 40

t * 0.1777910 = 1.6020599

t = 1.6020599 / 0.1777910

t = 9.01

t = 9 years
