Federally chartered banks and credit unions are run like businesses that make a profit.
Licemer1 [7]

Answer:

False.

Explanation:

A bank is said to be federally chartered when it is appropriately authorized and regulated by the federal government of a country with recourse to statutory laws but not the state government. Some examples of federally chartered banks are Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of England, Swiss National Bank, Citizen National Bank, Bank of Japan, PNC Bank, First National Bank, U.S. Bank, Reserve Bank of Australia, etc.

A credit union can be defined as a non-profit making financial cooperative that is typically controlled by its members (employees, church groups, labour unions etc) and it is saddled with the responsibility of providing financial services like the traditional banks.

Generally, the profit made from the amount of money that is being deposited by the members of a credit union are usually returned to the members as a form of better interest rates. Some examples of credit unions are SchoolsFirst Credit Union, New York University Federal Credit Union, Consumers Credit Union, etc.

Hence, federally chartered banks and credit unions are not run like businesses that are a profit i.e they are a non-profit business.

10. You manage a home improvement store. Your area has just been hit by a flood.
timofeeve [1]
Since your town was impacted in a negative way by the flooding the demand for home improvement items will be high. When demand is high and supply is low it can drive up prices. Most stores would definitely take advantage of this supply and demand case because they could turn a bigger profit. That would be a motivating reason for some people or companies.

As for me personally, I would not raise prices in my business because I feel that is taking advantage of people in a bad situation. You know that they are going to need to supplies to help them fix flood damage and they will have no option but to buy the needed materials. However, if you raise prices it could backfire on you and they may go somewhere else to get the materials needed instead of shopping with you.

g If a firm can earn a profit stream of $50,000 per year for 10 years, that profit stream is worth:1)A)nothing today)less than $
galben [10]

Answer:

b)less than $500,000 today, but a positive amount.

Explanation:

By the virtue of the concepts of compounding and discounting, we understand that $1 today is worth more that $1 in the future.

Where Pv = Present value

Fv = Future value

r = discount rate

t = time

Fv = Pv ( 1 + r)^t

As such If a firm can earn a profit stream of $50,000 per year for 10 years, that profit stream is worth less than $500,000 today, but a positive amount.

In accordance with your request, the discrepancy in the Taylor account has been corrected.a. I have corrected the discrepancy in
ycow [4]

Answer:

a. I have corrected the discrepancy in the Taylor account.

Explanation:

When expressing oneself the message needs to be concise and pass accross the intended idea in as few words as possible.

The second option (As per your suggestion, I have corrected the discrepancy in the Taylor account) is wordy and we can do without the first part of the sentence (As per your suggestion).

The selected option avoids long lead-ins, is written in an active voice, and has a conversational tone.
