You would do 50x10. 5 x 1 is 5, plus the two zeroes we removed would make it 500, so she would have 500 pennies.

Clare is paid $90 for 5 hours of work. At this rate, how many seconds does it take for her to earn 25 cent?
Alla [95]
50 secs

as $90÷5hrs= 18 $ per hrs

$18÷60min=$0.30 per min

$0.30÷60sec=$0.005 per sec

$0.25÷$0.005= 50sec to make $0.25

so 50sec is the answer

Is 8/24 greater or 8/20
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

8/20

Step-by-step explanation:

the 8s may be the same, but because the denominator 20 is smaller than 24, 8 takes up more of it. another way to check is that 8/24 as a decimal is .33 repeating, but 8/20 as a decimal is 0.4.

0.4 is more than .33 repeating. reaffirming that 8/20 is bigger

The vertices of a triangle are located at P(0, 0), Q(8, 6), and R(-3, 4). What is the perimeter of this triangle?
alexgriva [62]
I graphed the vertices and got a triangle but its very hard to solve its perimeter. Therefore, I identified right triangles to help me solve for the perimeter making each side the hypotenuse of each right triangle.
Pythagorean Theorem: a² + b² = c²
a = short leg ; b = long leg ; c = hypotenuse

P(0,0) ; R(-3,4)
a = 3 ; b = 4 ;
3² + 4² = c²
9 + 16 = c²
25 = c²
√25 = √c²
5 = c

P(0,0) ; Q(8,6)
a = 6 ; b = 8
6² + 8² = c²
36 + 64 = c²
100 = c²
√100 = √c²
10 = c

Q(8,6) ; R(-3,4)
a = 2 ; b = 11
2² + 11² = c²
4 + 121 = c²
125 = c²
√125 = √c²
11.18 = c

Perimeter = 5 + 10 + 11.18 = 26.18
