Based on the math sets purchased by Startrek Secondary School as well as its various costs, the Economic Order Quantity is 84.61 sets.

What is the Economic Order Quantity?

This can be found as:

= √(2 x Annual math sets needed x Ordering cost per unit/ Carrying cost

Carrying cost is:

= 80 x 11%

= R8.80

The EOQ is therefore:

= √(2 x 700 x 48 / 8.8

= 84.61 math sets

Alla [95]

Answer:

$71,428.57

Explanation:

we can use the perpetuity formula to solve this question:

present value = future cash flow / (discount rate - g)

 • future cash flow = $10,000
 • discount rate = 6%
 • g = growth rate = -8%

present value = $10,000 / (6% - - 8%) = $10,000 / 14% = $71,428.57

Dr 12% Bonds payable 770,000

Dr Loss on retirement of bonds 31,570

Cr Cash 793,100

Cr Discount on bonds 8,470

NEW BOND ISSUE:

June 30, 2021

Dr Cash 1,020,000

Cr 10% Bonds payable 1,000,000

Cr Premium on bonds 20,000

B. Dec 31, 2021

Dr Interest expense 49,500

Dr Premium on bonds payable 500

Cr Cash 50,000

Explanation:

a. Preparation of the journal entries to record the redemption of the old issue and the sale of the new issue on June 30, 2021.

OLD BOND REDEMPTION :

June 30, 2021

Dr 12% Bonds payable 770,000

Dr Loss on retirement of bonds 31,570

Cr Cash 793,100

(103*770,000)

Cr Discount on bonds 8,470

(To record redemption of old bonds)

NEW BOND ISSUE:

June 30, 2021

Dr Cash 1,020,000

(1,000,000 * 102/100)

Cr 10% Bonds payable 1,000,000

(1,000,000 * 100/100)

Cr Premium on bonds 20,000

(1,000,000 * 2/100)

(To record issue of new bonds at premium)

CALCULATION for unamortized discount :

Discount at the time of issue 15,400

(2%*770,000)

Less: Discount amortised till june 30, 2021 (15,400 / 40 * 18) (6,930)

Unamortized discount 8,470

We made use of 18 because the interest was been given twice in a year which is December 31 and June 30

CALCULATION for loss on redemption :

Redemption of bonds 793,100

(103*770,000)

Less: Carrying value (761,530)

(770,000 - 8,470)

Loss on redemption 31,570

b. Preparation of the entry required on December 31, 2021, to record the payment of the first 6 months' interest and the amortization of premium on the bonds.

Dec 31, 2021

Dr Interest expense 49,500

(50,000-500)

Dr Premium on bonds payable 500

(20,000 / 40)

Cr Cash 50,000

(1,000,000 * 10% * 6/12)

(To record the interest expense for 6 months)

If the manufacturer of Cool Whip were to introduce an orange-flavored Cool Whip and still continue to produce all of its other C
AlexFokin [52]

Answer:

B. Line extension

Explanation:

Product Line Extension

This involves the use of an already established brand name, in this case, cool whip for a new item (orange flavored cool whip) in the same product category. It's the production of a new product that is a little different to a company's existing products. The differences the new product usually has from the existing products may be in the line of new flavour, colors, product size, added ingredients and so on.

A popular example of this is Coke and Pepsi releasing Diet Coke and Pepsi respectively. Adding a new product to their existing range of products.

Capricorn Creative Inc., a U.S.-based advertising firm, was the first in the advertising industry to identify the growth potenti
Anna71 [15]

Answer:

A. -

Explanation:

First Mover Advantage (FMA) is a marketing or business strategy where the advantage is gained by the initial significant occupant of a market segment.

Capricorn creative inc. being the first to identify the potential in Brazil and make investments is now benefiting from brand loyalty amongst others. By being the first mover/initial they gained competitive advantage in what looks like a monopoly-like status.

It is important to note that not all first movers tho are rewarded. This occurs mostly if the first mover doesn't capitalize on its advantage. In this situation it then becomes first-mover disadvantage.

Consider a production line with five stations. Station 1 can produce a unit in 9 minutes. Station 2 can produce a unit in 10 min
qaws [65]

Answer:

Bottle neck stations our the ones which take more time than the previous station because of which units received per hour our more than units created per hour creating a bottleneck.

In this case Station 2 is taking more time than station 1. (10>9)

Station 3 has 2 machines so although one machine takes more time than station one because of having 2 machines the time can be divided by 2 so there is no bottle neck here. (6<10)

Station 4 takes less time than station 2. (5<6)

Station 5 takes more time than station 4. (8>5) but station 5 is not a bottle neck because it is the last station so it is not slowing the units from going on to another station or the next station, because the good is finished here there is no bottle neck

The only bottle neck is station 2 because it takes more time to send one unit to the next unit compared to receiving one unit from station 1.
