Answer:

According to psychologist Gordon Allport, social psychology uses scientific methods "to understand and explain how the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of individuals are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of other human beings." What social psychology does is that it teaches us how people's social behavior is, and how we can match certain aspects of our emotions to uncalled attitudes. For example, someone may lash out at someone they truly love when they don't mean it, solely because they are upset. Social psychology can teach us how our feelings are coordinated with our beliefs and how we can react to them appropriately.

How can disease causing bacteria get inside a cell without damaging the cell membrane?
olasank [31]

Answer:

We have just seen that pathogens constitute a diverse set of agents. There are correspondingly diverse ranges of mechanisms by which pathogens cause disease. But the survival and success of all pathogens require that they colonize the host, reach an appropriate niche, avoid host defenses, replicate, and exit the infected host to spread to an uninfected one. In this section, we examine the common strategies that are used by many pathogens to accomplish these tasks.

Explanation:

The first step in infection is for the pathogen to colonize the host. Most parts of the human body are well-protected from the environment by a thick and fairly tough covering of skin. The protective boundaries in some other human tissues (eyes, nasal passages and respiratory tract, mouth and digestive tract, urinary tract, and female genital tract) are less robust. For example, in the lungs and small intestine where oxygen and nutrients, respectively, are absorbed from the environment, the barrier is just a single monolayer of epithelial cells.

Skin and many other barrier epithelial surfaces are usually densely populated by normal flora. Some bacterial and fungal pathogens also colonize these surfaces and attempt to outcompete the normal flora, but most of them (as well as all viruses) avoid such competition by crossing these barriers to gain access to unoccupied niches within the host.

The beaker in the illustration below contains two solutions of salt with different concentrations (measured by molarity, M). The
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

Option C

Explanation:

Image for the question is attached here

Solution

It is given that the membrane is permeable to both salt and water.

Thus, water will form region of high concentration to the region having low salt concentration. The same applies to the movement of water molecule.

As we can see in the image, Side A has higher water concentration and side B has higher salt concentration.

Thus water will move from side A to side B and Salt will move from side B to side A.

Hence, option C is correct
