The total height of the card tower will be 43 inches.

<h3>What is the height?</h3>

The height is a vertical distance between two points. We have given that to make a card tower using 3.5 in. tall cards. you decide to make the base of the triangles 2.50 in. how tall would a tower with 10 tiers be?

To calculate the height of the triangular tower we will use the Pythagorean theorem which states that Pythagorean theorem states that in the right-angle triangle the hypotenuse square is equal to the square of the sum of the other two sides.

The figure of the triangle is attached with the answer below The Hypotenuse is 3.5 and the base is 2.5 so the height will be calculated as:-

H² = 3.5 ² - 2.5 ²

H² = 12.25 + 6.25 = 18.5

H = √18.5 = 4.3 inches.

The height of one tier is 4.3 inches so the height of the 10 tiers will be

H = 4.3 x 10 = 4.3 inches.

Therefore the total height of the card tower will be 43 inches.

As the figure shows Elton runs 500 m to point b first then he turns 100 degrees and runs another 350 m to point c how far is the
Alex777 [14]

Answer:

658.24 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let A be the point from where Elton started. Connect points A and C, you get triangle ABC with AB=500 m, BC=350 m and m∠B=100°. Use the cosine rule to determine the length of the segment AC:

AC^2=AB^2+BC^2-2\cdot AB\cdot BC\cdot \cos \angle B,\\ \\AC^2=500^2+350^2-2\cdot 500\cdot 350\cdot \cos 100^{\circ},\\ \\AC^2=250000+122500-350000\cdot (-0.174),\\ \\AC^2\approx 433276.8622,\\ \\ AC\approx 658.24\ m.
