Equations can be used to find the dimensions of the picture frame:

Length = 2 +1/2w

and, 2(l+b)=40

What is equation?

An equation is a mathematical statement that is made up of two expressions connected by an equal sign.

Perimeter = 40 inches.

let the width be w

length= 1/2w+2

So.

Perimeter of rectangle

40= 2 (l+b)

40= 2(0.5w+2+w)

20=1.5w+2

18=1.5w

w= 12

length= 8

The angle of elevation to the top of a 15-story skyscraper is measured to be 4from a point on the ground 2,500 feet from the bui
alexandr1967 [171]

The point of observation is 2500 m away from the foot of the building.

The angle of elevation is 4°.

We need to find the height 'h' of the building.

With respect to 4°,

2500 is the adjacent side.

'h' is the opposite side.

The trigonometric ratio associating opposite & adjacent is tan.

We have

tan\theta =\frac{opposite}{adjacent}

tan4^{o}=\frac{h}{2500}

Cross multiplying we get

h = 2500 tan4°

h= 174.82 m

Option B) is the right answer.

The minute hand of a clock is 4.7 cm long. Calculate the are of the sector swept by the minute hand after 25 min
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The measure of the entire area swept out by the minute hand is

A = πr², which in this particular case is:

A = π(4.7 cm)² = 22.09π cm²

The sector in question has the area (25/60)(22.09π cm²), or 9.204π cm², or 28.92 cm² approximately.
