The width of the river = 60m and so Zachary will be able to swim the river without getting tired.

What is Proportion ?

When two ratios are equal , the ratio are said to be in proportion.

As given in the question ,

the width of the river has to be determined

Looking at the figure , the triangle formed at the side of the river is a right triangle the hypotenuse will be determined from the Pythagoras theorem

20² +24² = y²

y = 21.2 m

As the corresponding sides are proportional

31.2 : z = 20:50

z = 78.1

The value of the width of the river will be determined by the Pythagoras Theorem

78.1² = 50² + x²

x = 60m

the width of the river = 60m

Therefore Zachary will be able to swim the river without getting tired.

Данная фигура состоит из 6 одинаковых квадратов . Ее периметр равен 126 см. чему равна площадь фигуры?
hammer [34]

Answer:

The length of each side of square is 9 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The question in English is

The given figure is made up of 6 identical squares.The perimeter of the figure is 126 cm.what is the length of each side of square?

The picture of the question in the attached figure

Let

x ----> the length side of each square

we know that

The perimeter is the sum of the borders of the figure

so

In this problem

P=14x

see the attached figure N 2 to better understand the problem

we have

P=126\ cm

so

14x=126

solve for x

x=9\ cm

therefore

The length of each side of square is 9 cm

Five balls are numbered 1 through 5 and placed in a bowl. Josh will randomly choose a ball from the bowl, look at its number and
andrezito [222]

Answer:

1/5

Each of the 5 balls has 5 possible combinations, as each one (1 - 5) can be paired with any of the 5. Therefore, the total number of combinations is 25.

For the product to be even, one of the balls has to be a 2 or 4. However, 2 multiplied by any number 1 - 5 is not greater than 10, so 2 is not an option. This means one of the balls has to be a 4.

There are only 3 numbers of 1 - 5 that, when multiplied by 4, are greater than 10. These are 3, 4, and 5.

This means that there are 5 combinations that work:

3 × 4 = 12

4 × 3 = 12

4 × 4 = 16

4 × 5 = 20

5 × 4 = 20

This means that 5 out of 25 combinations produce a result that is both even and greater than 10.

5/25 is then simplified to 1/5
