Answer:

cos M = 38 /  63

Step-by-step explanation:

SOH - CAH - TOA

is how I remember the calculations,

S - sin

C - cos

T - tan

(o = opposite side ; a = adjacent side ; h = hypotenuse)

SOH would be sin = opposite/hypotenuse

CAH  means cos = adjacent / hypotenuse

Okay, so looking at the angle M, we know the hypotenuse [63] and the adjacent value [38]

From this, (only having H and A), we can only find the cos of M

(without finding additional numbers, which we could do with the Pythagorean theorem)

So, the cos of M is adjacent/hypotenuse

cos M = 38 /  63

(I didn't try to find other measurements of the triangle here because the most simple measurements [that were already there] worked/was an option)

Evaluate 32 + 12 = ( 6 – 3) x 8.
Brrunno [24]

Hello there!

(Equation #1) 32 + 12 = 44

(Equation #2) 6 - 3 = 3, 3 x 8 = 24

These both equations don't have the same answer, even though it says that they are equal with each other, if you could correct these these 2 equations I am willing to answer again.

Hope this helped!!

Thickness measurements of ancient prehistoric Native American pot shards discovered in a Hopi village are approximately normally
sasho [114]

Answer:

a) P(X

P(z

b) P(X>7.0)=P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{7-\mu}{\sigma})=P(Z1.47)

P(z>1.47)=1-P(z

c)  P(3

P(-0.882

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

Part a

Let X the random variable that represent the thickness of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(4.5,1.7)

Where \mu=4.5 and \sigma=1.7

We are interested on this probability

P(X

And the best way to solve this problem is using the normal standard distribution and the z score given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(X

And we can find this probability using excel or the normal standard table:

P(z

Part b

We are interested on this probability

P(X>3.0)

And the best way to solve this problem is using the normal standard distribution and the z score given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(X>7.0)=P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{7-\mu}{\sigma})=P(Z1.47)

And we can find this probability using excel or the normal standard table:

P(z>1.47)=1-P(z

Part c

P(3

And we can find this probability using excel or the normal standard table liek this:

P(-0.882
