Step-by-step explanation:

I assume delivery fee and service fee apply only once even if I order multiple pizzas in one order.

1.

y = 12x + 2.5 + 0.75 = 12x + 3.25

2.

y = 10x + 2.5 + 0.75 = 10x + 3.25

3.

I choose : $63.25

how many large pizzas ?

63.25 = 12x + 3.25

60 = 12x

x = 5

so I can order 5 large pizzas.

how many medium pizzas?

63.25 = 10x + 3.25

60 = 10x

x = 6

so, i can order 6 medium pizzas.

FYI : if the price is actually all 3 fees for each pizza ordered, then the formulas would look like this :

large pizzas :

y = (12 + 2.5 + 0.75)x = 15.25x

and for medium pizzas:

y = (10 + 2.5 + 0.75)x = 13.25x

and you could by for $63.25

63.25 = 15.25x

x = 63.25/15.25 = 4.147540984... ≈ 4 large pizzas

and

63.25 = 13.25x

x = 63.25/13.25 = 4.773584906... ≈ 4 medium pizzas

I assume we cannot buy part pizzas.

In December of 2003, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in the United States was $1.50.
12345 [234]

Answer:

yes

Step-by-step explanation:

because the cost stays the same and you would multiply blank gallons of gas by 1.50 every time so it is proportional. For example: it would be $1.50 to 1 gallon, $3 to 2 gallons, $4.50 to 3 gallons and would keep going like that, adding the same amount every time

Lina20 [59]

Answer:

At 1% significance level,  this difference is considered to be extremely statistically significant.

Step-by-step explanation:

 Group   Group One     Group Two

Mean 41.300 54.800

SD 6.800 6.000

SEM 2.050 1.604

N 11      14

H0: Mean of group I = Mean of group II

Ha: Mean of group I < mean of group II

(Left tailed test at 1% significance level)

  The mean of Group One minus Group Two equals -13.500

 standard error of difference = 2.563

 t = 5.2681

 df = 23

 p value= 0.00005

Since p < significance level, reject H0

A thermometer is removed from a room where the temperature is 70° F and is taken outside, where the air temperature is 40° F. Af
fgiga [73]

Answer:

53.3324

Step-by-step explanation:

given that a  thermometer is removed from a room where the temperature is 70° F and is taken outside, where the air temperature is 40° F.

By Newton law of cooling we have

T(t) = T+(T_0-T)e^{-kt}

where T (t) is temperature at time t,T =surrounding temperature = 40, T0 =70 = initial temperature

After half minute thermometer reads 60° F. Using this we can find k

T(0,5) = 40+(70-40)e^{-k/2} = 60\\e^{-k/2} =2/3\\-k/2 = -0.4055\\k = 0.8110

So equation is

T(t) = 40+(30)e^{-0.8110t}\\

When t=1,

we get

T(1) = 40+(30)e^{-0.8110}\\\\=53.3324
