a. What was the family’s fuel efficiency in miles per gallon? Round to the nearest tenth.

b. Suppose the Mitchells plan to drive to Washington, D.C. on their next road trip. Assuming they get the same mileage as you calculated in part a, calculate the cost of their 1060-mile route if gasoline costs $2.35 per gallon.

The family’s fuel efficiency in miles per gallon is 32.67miles/gallon .The cost of their 1060-mile route if gasoline costs $2.35 per gallon  is $ 76.234.

<h3>What is Distance Travelled ?</h3>

The measure of the length between two points is called Distance.

It is a scalar quantity.

The family's fuel efficiency =  Distance travelled/ Fuel required

= 750/54

= 13.89 km/l

= 13.89* 0.621/0.264  miles/gallon

=32.67miles/gallon

For the same fuel efficiency ,

cost for Washington DC trip

Distance = 1060 mile

fuel required = 1060/32.67

=32.44 gallon

Cost of 1 gallon = $2.35

Cost of 32.44 gallon = 32.44 * 2.35

=$76.234

The cost of their 1060-mile route if gasoline costs $2.35 per gallon  is $ 76.234.

Nezavi [6.7K]

At most 12 peppers can be bought with $18

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Total amount for peppers = $18

Cost per pepper = $1.50

Let p be the number of peppers that can be bought from $18 at $1.50 per pepper

So,

1.50p\leq 18

Dividing both sides by 1.50

\frac{1.50p}{1.50}\leq \frac{18}{1.50}\\p\leq 12

Hence,

At most 12 peppers can be bought with $18

A jewlery supply shop buys silver chains from a manufacturer for c dollars each, and then sells the chains at a 57% markup
kirza4 [7]

11. 57% = 0.57

12.  retail price = c + (0.57c)

13.  retail price = 45 + (0.57 x 45)

retail price = 45 + 25.65

retail price = $70.65

14. 57% was added to the original price of the chain which is $25.65

elizabeth buys a circular rug with a lace border. the lace is 12.56 feet long what is the diameter of the rug
vfiekz [6]
We know that the lace is also what we would call the circumference of the circle.

And we also know that the circumference of a circle is represented by the equation: c= \pi d.

We then can use the length of the lace (12.56 ft) to solve for the diameter (d) of the rug. Let us solve for that now:

12.56=(3.14)d

d=4

We now know that the diameter of the rug is 4 ft.
