The 5 stages of mitosis go in this order: Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and then finally Telophase. Interphase is the beginning of the process which is yellow. Prophase would be red. Metaphase would be blue. Anaphase isn't shown in one of the ones that is pointed out. Finally Telophase is green. Then starts the process over again with Interphase :)

1. How much of downtown boston was original land? Where did the rest come from?
Hatshy [7]

History of Boston is described below.

Explanation:

  • When workers cut down Copp's hill the only thing they left untouched was the old three-acre burying ground. The city built a retaining wall around the graveyard to prevent it from eroding. In 1814, the Boston and Roxbury Mill Corporation built the Boston & Roxbury Mill Dam across the back bay
  • Originally called Tremontaine for the three hills in the area, the Puritans later changed the settlement's name to Boston, after the town in Lincolnshire, England, from which many Puritans originated.
  • South Boston, which was front and center in the battle, is no longer that close-knit old school “tough-as-nail” Irish Catholic enclave. “Southie,” as it is still fondly referred to, houses the world today flaunting some of the best restaurants and expensive housing in the city
  • Boston was founded in 1630 by English Puritans fleeing religious persecution. On 29 March 1630 a fleet of 11 ships carrying 700 people sailed from England to Massachusetts. They were led by John Winthrop (1588-1649). At first the people settled at Charlestown, which had been founded the year before.
  • Much of Boston's coastline is man-made land. The original shoreline, from 1630, is visible in dark green on this map. Land made between 1630 and 1995 is light green.Boston is a safe city, but as with any major city, you should take the usual safety precautions. Stay in well-populated areas, travel with others, especially at night, and keep track of your belongings. The tourist areas in Boston are generally safe, but some areas deserve mention.

A color-blind, chromatin-positive male child (one Barr body) has a maternal grandfather who was color-blind. The boy's mother an
anastassius [24]

The male child is having Kleinfelter's syndrome.

Explanation:

In the Klinefelter's syndrome, the number of chromosomes is 47 ie 2X Y

It is given that he is chromatin-positive male i.e colour blind.  It can be assumed that he received two X chromosome from his mother in which one turned in to barr body. Colour blindness is an X-linked recessive trait.

Both the X chromosomes have an allele for colour blindness and nondisjunction has taken place in mother's gametes, making 2X chromosome.

It can be concluded that the chromosome having colour bling gene got expressed whereas the other chromosome became barr body.

Which of the following results from cutting down trees
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Vegetation on soil protects the soil from erosion because its roots and root hairs help bind the soil particles together. This occurs mechanically by binding soil into crumbs and also chemically by providing organic matter that binds the soil particle into humus that holds moisture. The soil becomes heavy to be carried off by wind erosion. Trees also break the down flow of water hence reducing the capacity of runoff to carry soil sediments.
