For the volume of a rectangular prism (box-shape), all we have to do is multiply, length * width * height.
We know from the text that the hole the construction company will be digging is 12 yards long, 7 yards wide, and 3 yards deep, so all we need to do to find the volume of the dirt removed in cubic yards is multiply, 12 * 7 * 3.

12 * 7 = 84

84 * 3 = 252

The construction company will have removed 252 cubic yards of dirt for the swimming pool.
Hope that helped! =)

1. Suppose that cos B = 0.68. What is the value of sin(a)? Explain.
Papessa [141]

The value of Sin(a) suppose that Cos B = 0.68 in which case, a + B = 90° is; 0.68.

Trigonometry

First, when we have two angles, whose sum equals, 90°.

In essence, Since the algebraic sum of angles A and B is 90°;

 • A + B = 90.

 • B = 90 -A.

By trigonometric identity;

 • Sin A = Cos (90 - A)

Where; (90 - A) = B.

Therefore; Sin A = Cos B = 0.68.

Line p passes through A(-2, -4) and has a slope of 1/2 What is the standard form of the equation for line p?
yarga [219]
Point slope form is y-(-4) = 1/2(x-(-2)

y+4 =1/2 (x+2)

now the standard form 2y+8=x+2
so -x+2y=-6 is the equation for line p in standard form
