Alcohol manufacture requires sugar as a key ingredient. It is useful and was a valued commodity in trade. Many conflicts have  arisen in Africa between tribes and kingdoms due to power and opinion.

The culture of slave trade has increased significantly due to the growth of the Atlantic economy, the fast expansion of the English colonies, and the establishment of a plantation system as they  all increased the demand for labour from Africans.
