Okay, so, you'd have to first multiply 2/3 and 2/5, which gives you 4/15.

This means that, overall, 4/15 students study French, which means that 11/15 students do not study French.

Therefore, the ratio of students that study French to students who do not study French is 4:11.

Answer: 4:11

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Fraction of students study a language =\dfrac{2}{3}

Let x be the number of students in the school.

Then , No. of students study a language =\dfrac{2}{3}x

Fraction of students who study a language study French =\dfrac{2}{5}

No. of of students who study a language study French =\dfrac{2}{5}x

No. of students study French =\dfrac{2}{5}\times\dfrac{2x}{3}=\dfrac{4x}{15}

Then, the number of students do not study French = x-\dfrac{4x}{15}=\dfrac{15x-4x}{15}=\dfrac{11x}{15}

Now, the ratio of student who study French to students who do not study French:-

\dfrac{\dfrac{4x}{15}}{\dfrac{11x}{15}}=\dfrac{4}{11}=4:11

Hence, the required answer = 4:11

What is an exponent? Because i am confused
ollegr [7]

An exponent is a number written above and to the right side of a value or number in math. The value or number is called the base, and the expression is read out as;

"Base raised to the power of exponent."

An example is given below;

10^3

In this example, 10 is the base and 3 is the EXPONENT.

The expression is now read out as,

"10 raised to the power of 3"

Note that even unknown values (such x as we commonly use in math) can also be an exponent or base. For example, we can have;

\begin{gathered} 10^x \\ OR \\ 2x^3 \end{gathered}

So basically, an exponent indicates the number of times a number is used to multiply itself.

Three fourths minus three eighths equals
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

3/8

Step-by-step explanation:

With unlike denominators find the Least Common Denominator (LCD)

LCD = 8

Multiplying numerators and denominators to get the LCD in all fraction denominators

=3/4 times 2/2−3/8

Then rewriting the equation with the equivalent fractions

=6/8−3/8

With like denominators we can operate on just the numerators

=6−3/8

=3/8

Mrs. Wheeler had a bowl of M&M’s sitting on her table. Her daughter Lauren told her that she thought there were 100 M&M’
laiz [17]

There was 33.3% error in her calculation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Approx value thought by Lauren = 100

Exact value counted = 75

Percent error = \frac{|approx-exact|}{exact}*100

Percent\ error=\frac{|100-75|}{75}*100\\\\Percent\ error=\frac{|25|}{75}*100\\\\Percent\ error=\frac{2500}{75}\\\\Percent\ error=33.33\%

Rounding off to nearest tenth;

Percent error = 33.3%

There was 33.3% error in her calculation.
