Answer:

C) "But when I think of his patience under adversity, of his courage under fire, and of his modesty in victory, I am filled with an emotion of admiration I cannot put into words."

D) "I listen then, but with thirsty ear, for the witching melody of faint bugles blowing reveille, of far drums beating the long roll. In my dreams I hear again the crash of guns, the rattle of musketry, the strange, mournful mutter of the battlefield."

Explanation:

The first quote shows that the war has left an emotional scar on Douglas, while the second quote shows that he often thinks about it.

Answer:

B, D

Explanation:

Answer B appears reasonable in that it conveys the fact that his once optimistic outlook on life is now bleak due to his shifted perspective from the war.

D. We can infer that MacArthur now suffers from ptsd, which is a direct result of the war's impact.

I also thought it was C as well, but I'm leaning strongly toward B

Good luck!

As it is used in the passage, globe can best be defined as a
ludmilkaskok [199]

In the given passage, globe can be best described as a head.

Explanation:

The passage you were given is from the play Hamlet (full title: The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark), written by English poet, playwright, and actor William Shakespeare between 1599 and 1602. In the fifth scene of the first act, Hamlet says:

Remember thee! Ay, thou poor ghost, while memory holds a seat In this distracted globe.

In this scene, Hamlet speaks with the ghost, who claims to be his father's spirit and tells about how he was murdered in a foul and most unnatural way by his own brother, Claudius, who has successfully taken his throne. He is desperate as he is incapable of taking revenge and asks Hamlet to do that for him. This moves Hamlet, who swears to take revenge on his uncle. The word globe Hamlet uses here actually means head.

The doctors did all they could, but he finally \boxed{\sf \:A. \: died \: of } cancer.

The correct answer will be option A because here in the question they have indicated about the death of the person. The other options (asked for, fell back into & came into) are not fitting for this question. So, the correct answer is A. died of (✓).

Hope it helps.
