The essential summary of "The cutting of My long hair" is that it is a story that is suggestive of the fact that there is a lot of discrimination being faced by Indians in the west.

What is an objective summary?

An objective summary is one wherein the key facts are derived from the content of the text and not from the imagination or emotional point of view of the reader.

Hence, it is correct to indicate that the objective summary is that Indians are being discriminated against in the western world.

Which is the best example of a tragic impulse from shakespeareâs the tragedy of macbeth?
GrogVix [38]
I believe it is the witches' prophecy, at the very beginning of the tragedy. It fuels Macbeth's ambitions, so that the drama may unfold.

A tragic impulse is an event which inspires a character to undertake morally problematic actions with destructive consequences. Eventually, it leads to the character's downfall.

Thanks to the prophecy that Macbeth would be the king but Banquo would father kings, Macbeth realizes that he has no choice but to kill king Duncan. That is the moment when his tragedy begins, and when he enters the magic circle of crime. Later on, he has to have Banquo killed, to prevent him from fathering kings.

Read the passage from "No Gumption":
Mkey [24]

One major idea in the memoir "No Gumption" by Russell Baker is that of adaptability. In this excerpt, his mother is convinced that the author's future is that of business, and she pushes him towards trying harder and harder to succeed. Although he tries to do it for a long time, he does not have the talent or the interest necessary to succeed in that area. The mother, however, is adaptable, as she changes her mind in light of new evidence. When the author's teacher praises his work, his mother examines it, and when she agrees, she realizes that maybe her son's skills are better used in a different area. This is exemplified by the line: "Nothing more was said about it immediately, but a new idea had taken life in her mind". This sentence shows that the author's mother can reexamine her assumptions and create new ideas based on new evidence, which is the mark of adaptability.
