So when identifying the probability of a non-shaded area count all of the areas that are shaded and non-shaded.

In this instance it’s five so each individual section of being landed on is 20%

So there are three non-shaded areas out of five.

Use this fraction 3/5, and divide the nominator by a denominator which is 3 divided by 5.

3/5 = 0.6 or 60%

So the probability of landing on a non-shades are is 60%
