The T statistic does not require any information about the population.

<h3>
What is T- statistic?</h3>

The T - statistic is the ratio of the predictable value of a parameter from its hypothesized value to its standard disputable values.

The T statistic uses the sample variance instead of the population variance.
Since, the T statistic depends on  the hypothesized population mean. So in place of the  standard deviation of population,  size or mean of the population, T-statistic depends on the sample mean, the sample standard deviation and the sample size .

Thus, The T-statistic does not require any information about the population

How do I solve this
Lerok [7]
The speed of the plane will be 200 knots.

You do 800/4 because you are trying to find the speed of the airplane.

If you take the speed of the plane and divide the distance by the speed and then followed by the 5 and 4, you will get 800/200/4/5

800/200
=400

400/4
=100

100/5
=20

The speed of the wind is 20 knots.

A teacher wants to estimate the mean time (in minutes) that students take to go from one classroom to the next. His research ass
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

a:  We can't determine this from the given information

b: 98%

Step-by-step explanation:

For a:

n = 42

The confidence interval has equal time on each side of µ, so we can add the two end points and divide them by 2 to find the middle of the interaval:

7.4 + 8.6 = 16

16/2 = 8

Now subtract 7.4 from 8 to find the distance from the mean to the end of the interval

8 - 7.4 = 0.6

So the sample mean, plus the calculated error was 0.6 minutes.

We don't have a way of calculating the sample mean with the given information.  We could only find the sample standard deviation and the variance.

For b:

We have:

E = 0.6

s = 1.606

n = 42

See attached photo for the calculation of this value

The value is 2.421.

Using a sample size of 42, our degrees of freedom are 41.  Use the t-distribution chart to see which level of confidence has 2.421 under it.

The level of confidence is: 98%

We need 41 degrees of freedom, but the chart has only 40, then 45.  We can see that 40 has 2.423, and the values go down as the degrees of freedom go up, so 41 will correlate to 2.421

Choose the table that represents g(x) = −2⋅f(x) when f(x) = x + 4.
grigory [225]

Answer: THIRD OPTION.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since  g(x) = -2f(x), then g(x) is:

g(x)=-2( x + 4)\\\\g(x)=-2x-8

In order to find which table represents g(x) = -2f(x) when f(x) = x + 4, you can follow these steps:

1. Substitute x=1 into the function g(x)=-2x-8:

 g(1)=-2(1)-8\\\\g(1)=-10

2. Substitute x=2 into the function g(x)=-2x-8:

 g(2)=-2(2)-8\\\\g(2)=-12

3. Substitute x=3 into the function g(x)=-2x-8:

 g(3)=-2(3)-8\\\\g(3)=-14

Notice that those ouput values (for x=1,\ x=2 and x=3) matches with the table provided in the third option. That table represents g(x) = -2f(x) when f(x) = x + 4:
