A narrator is the person via whose perspective a story is being told. In this case the narrator is involved in a deception which she ultimately confesses and gains a relief of conscience.
The textual evidence that supports this is:
"I am so sorry,' I say. 'I pretended I turned my ankle because I was embarrassed. I was just so scared, so nervous.' I'll explain everything"
l saw a little boy run across. The car hit the boy. Thecar stopped and a man came out of the car. The man phoned for an ambulance immediately. The ambulance arrived in no time.
The first quotation has the characteristics of Realism which are objective writing, non-poetic diction and trustworthy events that are realistically described with a lot of details. In this excerpt, we can see a detailed description of the man who had been killed.
The second quotation has Idealism characteristics and the main characteristic of it is the spirit and after that logic and nature described in a poetic way.
